Motivation and work life

Good morning to all you amazing people! To start with I want to once again thank you all so much for the positive response you have given to my page, you are all making it a positive experience for me and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Today I wanted to talk about working, whether that be at school, college, university, or even at work. Work is always a tricky topic, but I feel like I’ve had such a range of experiences and because I’ve been able to get through these tough times, I wanted to share these results and methods with you lovely people.

In this post, I want to talk about where I am today with work and the current situation I’m in. I am currently on Easter break from university, but being in the UK, unfortunately I haven’t actually been up to the university campus since late last year. Now this has been massively demotivating to a lot of students, around the world and even adults in the workplace.

So how have I personally dealt with this? This semester I have really valued taking time away from work. And I know this sounds ridiculous… How am I going to do better at work by taking time away and having breaks? I’ve actually found that taking time away from my work, at specific times, increases my productivity when I actually sit down to work again!

This is so key. We have to find this work-life balance where we can give our mind and body a chance to have a break. The mentality I’ve been trying to live by recently is to just make the most of each day and each opportunity.

One of the biggest regrets people have had on their death beds, is that they worked too hard. This is something that massively impacted me recently, as in all honesty I am a hard worker, I wanted to be the ‘smartest’ person in the room, when in actual fact I didn’t realise I wasn’t actually enjoying my time as much as I could’ve been as a result of this.

Now I do want you to take this with a pinch of salt. Everyone does need to work hard to succeed and there is no way around this the majority of the time, but just try to make sure you are enjoying your lives at the same time.

My quote for today is:

“Sometimes life takes you in a direction you never saw yourself going but it turns out to be the best road you have ever taken” – Abhishek Tiwari

Sorry for the long post! I hope you took something from it. Have an amazing weekend, and I will see you on Tuesday.
